It’s as if some people never learn.  If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.  Our researchers here at FGA tried to warn Arkansas legislators about the false promises of the Arkansas Private Option, but many of them, Republicans no less, bought the fairy tale anyway.  Today, a Washington Times Editorial confirmed once again that the Private Option is nothing more than ObamaCare’s Medicaid expansion.

The Arkansas Medicaid private option is already over budget by nearly 15 percent. Costs exceed federal caps and, absent a reversal, Arkansas taxpayers will be charged tens of millions more dollars in cost overruns.

Arkansas officials are coming soon to Washington to seek a federal bailout. This shifts the burden to U.S. taxpayers to pay for the empty promise of the fiscally unstable private option expansion.

Put simply, the Republican legislators who rammed through the Private Option were flamboozled.
